Last week was British Science Week, which made for perfect timing for our Year 6 Science-English drop down day.

Students spend the day investigating the factors that affect how high rockets fly.

To do this, they built their own rockets and applied different amounts of pressure when launching their rockets.

They then measured how high the rockets flew; some of them reached the ceiling!

This was a really fund day of learning and as you can see from the photographs, the students loved testing their rockets.

After the investigation, the students completed an extended piece of writing about their process and findings, reminding them of the importance of using their English and writing skills across all subjects.
