Head of Vocational Mr Gaines shared his computing skills with the wider community this week, helping Craster senior citizens to boost their IT confidence and knowledge.
The support session was organised thanks to an invitation from former JCSC Science teacher, Jackie Reeves.
During a relaxed learning session, Mr Gaines delivered a presentation on the use of technology, this highlighted the huge advantages it can bring us including communication.
There were also group discussions around the risk of online fraud and identity theft, and
Attendees learned how they could protect themselves online along with receiving general support with common computing tasks such as word processing and connecting printers.
It is hoped this initial session will pave the way for some of our older IT students to share their own skills by providing support with specific tasks such as sending and managing emails.
