This week year 10 pupils embarked on a five-day work experience placement at a range of local businesses and orgnaisations.
Deputy Headteacher, Mrs Johnson said: “This is the first work experience week we have had in a number of years and we are delighted that it has been such a success. Thank you to Mrs Donohoe, Personal Character and Education Lead, for supporting, facilitating and organising placements for our pupils. Thanks also to all of the parents/carers who supported their children through the week and to the pupils themselves for embracing this opportunity. A massive thank you to all of the placement providers for welcoming our pupils; you have really helped our children prepare for the next phase of their education and gave them an insight in to the world of work.”
Mrs Donohoe, Personal Development and Character Education Lead at JCSC added: “I have visited the invaluable firsthand experiences of the working world that our students are having, in areas such as local primary schools, local businesses such as Percy Wood Holiday Park, Gray’s Warkworth, Coquet Vets, supermarkets, and not for profit organisations such as The Alnwick Garden and Lionheart Radio. I have been extremely impressed by the students I have visited and I have been blown away by the amazing opportunities given to our students by local employers.”
