James Calvert Spence College (JCSC) are delighted to announce the appointment of new Headteacher, Mr James Andriot who will be joining the school from the 1st September 2024.
Sue Currie, Chair of Governors at JCSC said: “Governors were delighted to have a large strong field of applicants to choose from all of whom were very keen to work at JCSC. They enjoyed their two-day interviews in school, and all were very complimentary about the school.
We are thrilled with our appointment of Mr Andriot who is an experienced Headteacher with a wealth of experience in many different types of schools in Newcastle, Hexham, Sunderland and London.”
Mr Andriot, who joins the school after four years as Principal of Excelsior Academy in Newcastle, said: “It is an honour and a privilege to be appointed as Headteacher of James Calvert Spence College, a school at the heart of its community.
I met with highly motivated colleagues and pupils during my interview and there is a strong sense of community, care and aspiration within the school. I’m really looking forward to meeting with parents and students in September to learn more about the community and how I can prioritise their needs.
I am particularly impressed by the school’s values which are so simple but also so powerful – Be Kind, Work Hard, Aim High and my leadership will be underpinned by these words.
One of my early priorities will be to plan carefully for the transition into the exciting new build; I am sure that the new facilities will boost the education of Amble’s young people even further and provide high quality learning experiences.”
The appointment of Mr Andriot comes after the public announcement in May of a staffing restructure at JCSC, in preparation of moving to a two-tier structure.
Sue Currie, Chair of Governors continues: “The school is now fully staffed for September and we look forward to an exciting new phase for JCSC.”
