History Subject Statement of Intent
History is not just about the past; it is about how the present is shaped. It reveals the diversity of human experience and cultures in an ever-integrating world and it is essential that any individual can recognise the legacy and contribution of British and non-British societies to the on-going development of human civilisation. We enjoy ample opportunity to impart our love of history and encourage lessons dominated by lively debate where informed opinion can drive learning and personal development. Students are expected to confidently communicate their knowledge and understanding through considered analysis and the use of logical and rational debate.
