Well done to Marcus, Charlotte and Jenson for being the first Sparx Reader Leaders. They have totalled over 5 hours of reading time between them, having Sparx reader only launching last week!
As a reward for their efforts, students received a book dedicated to them from JCSC provided by Librarian, Mrs Johnson from our well-stocked library.
Ms Sutherland, Director of English said, “This is an amazing effort by our Year 7 students in the first week of Sparx reader and there’s lots of healthy competition and interest around reading at JCSC. We congratulate all those that have taken part in Sparx Reader so far and we will run a half-termly Sparx Reader prize to encourage all of our students. We are passionate about students reading more but also reading for pleasure and to improve their mental health.”
