Year 11 and Year 13 students celebrated their last day at JCSC on the 24th May and left for study leave in preparation for their GCSE and A Level exams.
Year 11’s gathered in the hall for pizza, chips and ice cream followed by a leavers awards presentation and assembly with speeches from all of the staff who have been integral to their learning and development over the years.
Year 13 celebrated with staff at lunch and Mrs Wingfield baked cupcakes.
Mr Rodgers, Executive Headteacher said during this speech:
“We are so proud of all of our students leaving today, who are each going on to do something that they will enjoy and set them up for the rest of their lives in their chosen field. We hope that their time with us has prepared them for the rest of their lives, and that they will prove to be thoughtful, kind and caring individuals; who continue to make this an area that people are proud to live in. I can’t think of another school where the staff would come in dressed up just to make the students laugh, they are a great bunch of people and the students are lucky to have them. We look forward to seeing all our students again to celebrate their results days in August!”
Other staff speeches included: “You are an absolute credit to the school and community around you and I wish you the best of luck in life. “ And “Wow I can’t believe how fast this past year has flown over and how amazingly you have coped with one of the hardest challenges life throws at you, being a teenager!”
