Students studying a T-Level in Education and Early Years at James Calvert Spence College (JCSC) have began work placements at NCEA Warkworth Primary School to develop practical skills needed to complete their qualification.
Cerys Rowell, Ashleigh Redpath and Molly Burge (pictured left to right below) who began their course at the beginning of the school academic year; will be on placement at the primary school once a week working with children from nursery to year 6.
Mr Moore, Head of Sixth Form at JCSC said: “We are delighted that Mr Booth and NCEA Warkworth Primary have embraced taking our students for work placement. This high quality work experience will develop their work preparation, employability skills and provide them with invaluable skills needed to working in a childcare setting.”
Mr Moore explains: “Our T-Level courses which include ‘Education & Early Years’ and ‘Digital’, provide the opportunity for our students to gain an introduction to the sector they’re studying, whilst gaining a qualification equivalent to 3 A Levels. The courses are full-time for 2 years and provide the perfect balance of classroom learning and real-world experience; enabling learners to develop significant transferable skills that will support their progression post-18.”
