Year 9 and Year 11 Aim High – Options and Sixth Form Open and Careers Evening

Our Aim High event is predominantly for parents and carers of students in year 9 and year 11, it incorporates the Year 9 Options Evening and Sixth Form Open and Careers Evening. We’re also putting on a spread and inviting you to join us for a pie and pea tea to be precise. We know information evenings can interrupt families’ usual evening routines, so we want to take the pressure off a bit and take the opportunity to get to know you even better to chat about your child’s progress, plans and career goals.

This event will give parents and students the opportunity to discover and consider the varied supported pathways available for students in year 10 and year 11 and into post-16 education at our OFSTED-rated ‘good’ vibrant Sixth Form.

On the night there will be

Presentations about the learning expectations, milestones and options available to students in Year 10-13
Year 9 Options Booklet and Sixth Form prospectus detailing the courses we intend to offer in 2023
Pie and Pea tea (please indicate whether you’d like the carnivorous or vegan option)
Subject specific activities and facilities tours
A chance to speak to teachers about student progress,course offerings, student strengths and future plans
An Introduction to our new T-Level course offering
The Head of Sixth Form and Head of School will also be available to talk about longer term career plans and how we can support your child to Aim High
Representatives from local businesses and employers to chat to and network with (only put in if confirmed)
Current sixth form students will be around to answer questions about their Year 9 options routes into JCSC Sixth form and beyond and sixth form life
