This Apprenticeship Week we wanted to say a special thank you to our in-school Teaching Assistant apprentices – Rowan, Lauren, Jack, Natalie, Robert and Robbie.

The group joined us in September and are a great team. Our Apprentice Teaching Assistants combine study with working in school and have really flourished in the short time they’ve been with us, taking the opportunity to undergo training and qualifications and to share their passions and interests with our students through their involvement in our extracurricular clubs programme.

Rowan, joined us after COVID made him re-think his A-Level plans. He’d previously done work experience in a school and knew he wanted to work in education, so he was really pleased when he landed one of  TA roles with a PE specialism.

He said: “I’ve really enjoyed being able to do all the sporty things as part of my job, playing football with the students is a great part of my day, I’ve also helped out with the swimming lessons and I’m looking forward to going on the Kingswood trip later in the year too.”

Rowan and Jack, share their love of football in our lunchtime and after school football clubs. Fellow apprentices Lauren and Robert also share their sporting passions at our kickboxing and dancing clubs.

Head of Lower School Mrs Johnson, said: “We are delighted with the new members of the team. They have developed positive relationships with staff and students. Through their training from the training provider and in school, they are quickly developing their skills and knowledge of the TA role.”
