James Calvert Spence College is situated in a beautiful coastal town in Northumberland and is a 9-19 through school, catering for students from Year 5 to Year 13.

This exciting new post has been created for an enthusiastic, talented and driven individual to lead a team of dedicated teachers in our improving school at the heart of its community.

The Director of humanities and MFL will join five other colleagues at this level, holding a senior leadership position within James Calvert Spence College and be responsible for the quality of provision, and outcomes, across the school. Due to our unique age range, this person will be pivotal in ensuring outstanding provision for our students aged 9
upwards so they receive a truly seamless educational experience leading to employment or higher education. This is an exciting time to join us as we continue our journey towards excellence. We have fully staffed departments of specialist teachers and offer geography, history and French at both GCSE and A-level.

The pupils and staff are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to cover a member of staff on maternity leave who wants to work as part of a team to drive learning forward. This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding teacher of maths to join a very experienced team of maths specialists and contribute to the further success of this subject area. We need someone who is passionate about learning and ensuring all children reach their full potential, to assist in ensuring the ongoing success of this key area of the curriculum.
