James Calvert Spence College is a 9-19 through school, catering for students from Year 5 to Year 13.   

Due to the promotion of the current postholder, we require an enthusiastic, energetic and committed teacher of food technology to deliver this popular subject to GCSE and A-level standard.

Food, within the Art & Design Directorate, is one of the most popular and successful areas of study at JCSC.  GCSE outcomes are consistently amongst the best in the school, and outperform national averages on a regular basis. You will join one of the most popular directorates in the school, art & design, and would also be expected to teach food or DT at key stage 3.

The pupils and staff are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual who wants to work as part of a team to drive learning forward. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with the potential to be an outstanding teacher to join a strong team and contribute to the further success of this subject area.  We need someone who is passionate about learning and ensuring all children reach their full potential, to assist in ensuring the ongoing success of this key area of the curriculum.

Invigilator

Band 3 £18,795 – £19,171 (pro rata)

James Calvert Spence College is seeking to add to our existing team of exam invigilators to help assist throughout the exam period. Invigilators work directly under the Exams Officer, who will provide training and guidance for this important post.

Duties include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of the examination venue including distribution and collection of exam papers and equipment
  • Supervising the conduct of students in and around the examination venue.
  • Ensuring all examination materials are securely maintained.

Applicants must be confident, have good organisation skills, and be able to work flexible hours. Previous experience of dealing with school age students and examination processes are desirable but not essential.
