James Calvert Spence College is a 9-19 through school, catering for students from Year 5 to Year 13.

We require an English teacher to join our school and teach in key stages 3 and 4.

The pupils and staff are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual who wants to work as part of a team to drive learning forward. This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding teacher of English to work with a very experienced team of English specialists.

JCSC has improved considerably over the last few years and GCSE outcomes are rising rapidly.  We need a motivated individual, passionate about learning and ensuring all children reach their full potential, to assist in ensuring the ongoing success of this key area of the curriculum.

Learning Support Partner

30 hours per week (term time plus 5 days)
Band 3 (£18,795 – £19,171 pro rata)

To join us as soon as possible, we require four Learning Support Partners to support teachers and pupils in order to raise and maintain high standards of learning in the school.

Typical work activities include:

  • Supporting teaching
  • Creating and maintaining a purposeful learning environment
  • Maintaining pupil records
  • Upholding the rules of the school/classroom

    You may also be required to undertake administration tasks such as handing out/collecting papers, photocopying, marking, putting up/taking down displays, etc.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly skilled admin assistant to join our school support staff team as soon as possible.  The post holder must be highly organised and have good communication skills which will be utilised in developing positive partnerships with parents, carers, colleagues and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will:

  • be flexible, dynamic, pro-active and a team player
  • be educated to at least NVQ Level
  • have successful experience working with children, ideally in a school environment
  • be able to establish and maintain professional relationships with students, parents and staff
  • have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • be able to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines

  • be patient and have a good sense of humour

Catering Assistant

17 hours per week (term time plus 4 days)
Band 1

We are seeking to appoint a catering assistant to join us as soon as possible. You will assist in the preparation and service of meals and refreshments and undertake associated kitchen duties.

No specific knowledge and experience is required but, if not already possessed, the Basic Food Hygiene Certificates must be achieved within, ideally, six months of commencement and applicants should have basic literacy and numeracy skills.
