We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join our supportive and successful department. This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional classroom practitioner to join James Calvert Spence College as we to move to our brand new premises with state of the art facilities.
As a Teacher of science at JCSC you will be required to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across the science curriculum to pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4. Experience teaching to Key Stage 5 is also desirable.

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and caring Pastoral Support Officer (PSO) to join our existing team in September.
Our PSOs provide highly valued support, addressing the needs of pupils who require help overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential. The role is predominantly education based but also has a wider remit, including working with families and other agencies to promote engagement and intervention at the earliest opportunity.
Duties include:
Acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and ensuring safeguarding is rigorous and meticulous.
Carrying out ‘on call’ duties to assist colleagues with behaviour management.
Providing differentiated levels of support to pupils with behavioural issues, including those with special needs.
The postholder must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish productive relationships with pupils, families and other professionals.
You will:
Have a calm and positive approach.
Be able to sensitively understand the needs of children and their families.
Have the ability to use initiative and apply effective problem solving skills.
Be able to work independently with individuals, small groups or a whole class as needed.
