We were delighted to host our annual Careers Fair to showcase to our pupils the vast array of inspirational businesses and further education providers there is available in our area.
All businesses were provided with a stall space where pupils from all year groups, year 7 – 13 (aged 11-18 years) had the opportunity to visit each stall on rotation.
Sixth form student, Thea said: “It was interesting to learn about the different pathways that the visitors took to their chosen career, whether that be from an apprenticeship route, following a university degree or a career change later in life. I also found the Army chat interesting, how there are different funding options available to those who would like to pursue a career in the forces.”
Fellow student, Kalia added: “I really enjoyed the conversation I had with MSP, it was interesting to learn about how their software is used within manufacturing. A career as a software engineer sounds fun!”
With over 20 businesses and further education providers in attendance, there was a great mix of options on offer to our pupils. Mrs Donohoe, Personal Development and Education Lead and Teacher of PHSE explains: “This was a brilliant opportunity for our pupils to think about their future after school and be inspired by the different career routes and options available to them. Staff were really impressed with pupil engagement and there was a real buzz in the room. Thank you so much to the companies who supported us on the day; your insight, expertise and encouragement to our students is invaluable.”
