As a proud Northumbrian, Mrs Donohoe was excited to start her position at James Calvert Spence College in early 2023. Mrs Donohoe teaches Sociology, Health and Social Care and leads the school in Personal Development and Character Education.
Prior to teaching in Amble, Mrs Donohoe worked as a teacher in South Shields teaching Humanities and Social Ethics, and in the west-end of Newcastle teaching Sociology, Humanities and RE. She also led these schools in the areas of SMSC and PSHE.
She is passionate about preparing our students for success in modern day society by cultivating a sense of connection to self, pride in their local community and finding their place in our country.
Mrs Donohoe has a joint Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology and Sociology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Pedagogy, along with her professional teaching qualifications.
Mrs Donohoe feels it vital to embed exciting extracurricular opportunities for our students such as work experience, career fairs, guest speakers, workshops and visits related to the personal development of the students within our school.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends enjoying our Northumbrian countryside.
