Hayley joined JCSC in 2014 as a newly qualified teacher (NQT) and has been with us ever since! As Director of English, she is responsible for the development of the English curriculum and for improving the student outcomes and quality of education in the English department from KS2 to KS5. Hayley has recently completed her Masters in Expert Teaching and is passionate about using research to develop the skills of herself and her team. She is also currently working on her National Professional Qualification in Leading Teacher Development (NPQLTD) and enjoys supporting staff and students to reach their full potential.
Before joining JCSC, she worked in a variety of roles outside of education and finally decided that teaching was the job for her. Hayley studied English Language and Literature at the University of Sunderland before going on to complete her PGCE in Secondary English.
Outside of school, Hayley has two children and enjoys spending time with her daughters and indulging her passions for calligraphy, origami and reading.
