Our Football Academy offers a unique opportunity for talented and enthusiastic young footballers to combine academic success with high-quality, professional training.
Initially open to Year 7 students (boys and girls) when launched in September 2025, the academy provides a structured, curriculum-based programme that develops sporting ability, character, and essential life skills.
A Football Programme Built for Growth
Our academy is designed to support pupils throughout their journey at JCSC. As pupils move up through the school, they will not only continue developing their footballing ability but will also gain access to a range of qualifications and experiences that enhance their confidence and future opportunities, including:
- FA Sports Coaching Badges – Introduction to coaching pathways, leadership and communication skills.
- Refereeing Qualifications – Training and accreditation in officiating, building responsibility and decision-making.
- First Aid Certifications – Practical life skills that prepare students for roles in sport and their wider community.
These experiences strengthen students’ personal development, preparing them for future careers in sport and beyond.
High-Quality Coaching
Pupils receive specialist football coaching as part of their school timetable. Sessions focus on:
- Technical skill development
- Tactical understanding
- Physical fitness
- Teamwork
- Discipline and resilience
Delivered by qualified coaches, the programme ensures every pupil is supported and challenged to reach their potential.
Competitive Opportunities
Pupils will take part in competitive fixtures, both within school and against other football teams – giving them the chance to apply their learning in real match environments.
Benefits of the Football Academy
Our academy aims to support pupils both on the pitch and in the classroom, offering benefits such as:
- Positive Behaviour & Discipline
Football provides structure, respect, and a sense of responsibility that supports behaviour across school life. - Improved Attendance & Motivation
Pupils who are invested in their passions are more likely to attend regularly and engage fully with their schoolwork. - Increased Confidence & Engagement
A balance of academic study and sporting focus helps students feel motivated, included, and enthusiastic about school.
Grounded in Our Core Values
Be Kind – Work Hard – Aim High
These values shape everything we do.
Through sport, pupils develop empathy, teamwork, resilience, ambition, and pride—all essential qualities for success in school and life.
Join Our Academy
We are excited to welcome the next generation of young footballers into this ambitious, long-term programme.
Trials will take place with current Year 6 primary pupils who will be joining us in Year 7. These trials will be held each July for the following September intake.
This trial session will serve as the official Football Academy Trial for all interested Year 6 pupils.
