Our Terror-ific Halloween Day at South Avenue

Oct 26

Staff and students at our South Avenue site ended the half term with a terror-ific day of activities for all.

Students in years 5, 6 and 7 were invited to dress up in Halloween costumes and make up and took part in lots of Halloween-themed activities including a spooky storytime, Halloween sports, card making and biscuit and cake decorating.

We were incredibly impressed by the creative costumes and the children had a thoroughly enjoyable day – one group of Year 5 students declared it their ‘best school day, ever’.

There was a bake sale at break time with spectacularly spooky decorated cakes on sale to raise funds for the library.

Special thanks go to those who helped to prepare for the day and to Morrisons, Amble, for their kind donations of cakes and crisps for the students.

It is such a joy to once again have these events taking place in school and we are eagerly looking forward to festive celebrations in December.

Jacqueline Johnson, Assistant Headteacher, said: “It’s been such a fantastic day. We’ve loved seeing all the imaginative costumes and the students have really enjoyed taking part in the different activities. Staff, students and parents have all put in a lot of effort and it’s really paid off, it was a truly spooktacular day.”
