Lockdown Laptops Arrive at JCSC

Jan 15

This week JCSC staff were pleased to take delivery of 98 laptops from the Department for Education.

The first batch of 18 laptops was checked by IT, allocated and collected by parents/carers for use by students within a matter of hours.

ICT staff have been busy loading the remaining laptops with the right software and many more have now been allocated and collected with some still available on a priority/needs basis.

Families without IT equipment at home and those experiencing issues accessing Google Classroom due to old IT equipment, should get in touch with our Pastoral Officers.

Last week, we also gratefully received a donation of a laptop and TV from Wendy and Mike Lyons.

The Warkworth couple decided to donate the electrical items after a post-Christmas clear out.

When we caught up with freelance medical secretary, Wendy, and Mike, who became a writer when he finished working as a headteacher, the couple were extremely pleased to hear that the laptop and TV are already in use helping a JCSC family with their home learning during lockdown.

The staff at JCSC have been thrilled to hear all the positive feedback about our home learning offering, please do keep providing feedback.

We hope the laptops we now have available will make the home learning experience easier for many more students.

If you have a laptop that you think a child could make use of , the Donate Digital scheme is taking donations.
