May was a stellar month for Shining Light certificates with just over 10% of the student body recognised for their efforts by the directors of art, technology and vocational subjects.
Students from Year 7 upwards were awarded certificates for their creativity, research skills, attention to detail, focus, being helpful in lessons and consistently participating in discussion.
The Shining Light awards this month covered several subjects including PE, art, technical drawing, photography, fashion, textiles and IT.
The directors of these subject areas were incredibly pleased to be able to award certificates to so many students who are not only making fantastic progress but also making the effort to contribute positively to their classes too.
Mrs Yuill, Director of Art & Design, said: “It is great to see so many of our students working hard and being creative throughout the key stages. I look forward to seeing much more of your imaginative, original ideas and inventiveness over the next half term. Remember ‘design is a solution to a problem, art is a question to a problem’.”
Mr Gaines, Director of Vocational Studies, said: “I am really proud of the work our students have produced, which not only demonstrates a commitment to their learning but also the appetite to do their best. It is a real pleasure to see the development of our students capabilities within the Vocational directorate which will support them not only with their current learning but also into the future.”
This month Shining Light certificates will be awarded for Humanities, PSHE, and Interact. Will your name be on the list?
